YNP Series, Part 4 - Giant Sequoia

"Giant sequoias are the largest living things on earth in terms of volume. They can grow to stand 300 feet tall and 30 feet across, and they can live for 3,000 years. The ice ages and other climactic changes brought these redwoods to the brink of extinction. Today, The redwoods stand as survivors of the earth's distant past." - These words taken form a placard at the area where these trees are found.



The tree in the picture is therefore just a small giant sequoia tree. The bigger trees have a fence around them, probably to protect them from being traumatized by the people, just like what we're doing... haha.
